Beastwear the Apparel Partner of Australian Production Cars is pleased to share the 2019 Racing Calendar
Following overwhelming competitor feedback requesting more Phillip Island track-time as part of the Australian Production Cars’ 2019 season, APC management has today announced an exciting change to next year’s calendar.
The APC will now visit Phillip Island across June 28-30 as part of the track’s PIARC Endurance Access event, bringing two x 300km races to the popular Phillip Island race weekend.
The June 28-30 event will replace the previously announced Phillip Island date in the 2019 APC calendar, which was scheduled to be held earlier in the same month.
“While we were looking forward to visiting Phillip Island with the Shannons Nationals in early June, the feedback of our competitor base was simply overwhelming and something we could not ignore,” APCcategory manager, Iain Sherrin, said.
“When the opportunity to increase our track time from 3 x one-hour races to 2 x 300km races became a reality and at a time which suits our calendar and our competitors, we simply could not say no.
“At our core, the APC is an endurance series that seeks to give the most track time possible at stellar Australian venues. In fact, we provide the most amount of track time for any category in the country and we are proud to do so while visiting some of this country’s great race tracks.”
While the Phillip Island date has changed, the rest of the five-event calendar for 2019 remains untouched.
“Our 2019 season will open at Sydney Motorsport Park across March 1-3 with the Sydney 240 and early bird entries for that event will open on the 10th of December,” Sherrin explained.
“We then head to Phillip Island in late June for our expanded program there, before we join the Shannons Nationals for rounds at Queensland Raceway, Sandown Raceway and in an APC first, The Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend.
“It is my opinion that our calendar presents our competitors with a fantastic amount of track time, bang for buck, and amazing venues at which to race.”
